Haha, sorry I’m not very good with keeping blogs updated. Sagen has completely adapted to the life of a spoiled horse. He had a wolf tooth removed and his teeth floated last week, so now I wont feel bad about putting a bit in his mouth. He also has his first training session in a while on the 11th or 12th, he’s going to be a little reining arab! <3 anyways, here are some fairly old videos:

The Journey Begins

While I was in Japan my previous horse Sarah got adopted and I needed to find a new horse to work with. There weren’t any horses I was particularly fond of out there at the time. Then I heard about a three year old arab who was coming in. I meet Sagen on August 7th. Immediately he captured my heart. He is so sweet, smart, and brave. It’s October 25th now and already he has grown. He has learned to respect space, lunge, go over a teeter-totter and even a tarp{once}. He’s been saddled and bridled with absolutely no bucking and is learning how to give to the bit. He’s even had someone on his back once, and he learned all of this calmly and with minimal stress. He’s the type of horse who will follow you around the pasture and prefers people to other horses. He is lazy and his favorite word is ‘woah’, he also loves to eat and is very curious. He is very brave and willing to try. Sagen doesn’t seem to mind most man made things, but if he trips on a stick or a leaf touches his ear it’s soooo scary.  @_@  It’s funny to think back about how I never wanted a chestnut horse, and yet today I turned in the adoption papers for my cute little chestnut arab. And now, our real journey together begins.
